This is Kelly's Honda Rebel 250. She bought it on Ebay and got a pretty good deal. As you can see, it's candy-apple red and blue. The man she bought it from lived about sixty miles away in Bremerton. He was really nice throughout the whole transaction.
May 3rd, 2001: Scot drove Kelly, Nathan and I to Bremerton, where money was handed over and Kelly got to see the bike in person for the first time. So exciting! Really a sweet little bike and, difficult as it is to imagine, just her size. I got to ride it back to Olympia on Kelly's behalf since I have more hours in the saddle than she does, a Washington state driver's licence, motorcycle learner's permit (STILL haven't gotten 'round to getting my endorsement...) and leathers. It was agonizing for her to watch someone else ride her bike before she did. Although, the fact that it rained for a while on the way to Olympia should have eased the jealousy somewhat.
Since it's only a 250cc and only a two cylinder, 60mph on the freeway felt like riding an ENORMOUS BUMBLEBEE. The vibrations chased all the blood out of my arse and limbs till only my torso had any feeling left in it. It was, uh, grueling.
Here's Kelly wearing my helmet. My helmet is a size XL. Kelly takes a size S. The word that comes to mind is "bulbous".
Me, riding bitch behind my little sister, who weighs half as much as I. Kinda looks ridiculous.
